Definitions
- Gesture frequency over time
- Gestures in the first hour after each cycle opens are excluded — opening activity is unusually concentrated and would otherwise skew this chart.
- Gesture spikes
- Periods where gesture activity changed quickly compared with surrounding activity.
- Top 20 participant active periods
- Active periods for the top 20 participants: at least 2 gestures, with no more than 6 hours between consecutive gestures. Each bar represents one active period.
- Gesture type distribution
- How a cycle’s gestures split between ETH, ETH with a Random Walk NFT and CST, counted per window. A window far busier than the rest, such as a cycle’s opening, is cut at the top of the axis and labelled with its true count.
- Endurance & Chrono timeline
- Each bar is a lead stint: an address holding the lead from one gesture until the next gesture arrives. Bar width is how long the lead was held. Outlined bars set a new endurance record at the time. The Endurance Champion has the longest single stint; the Chrono-Warrior held the Endurance Champion title longest overall. The legend shows their colors.
- CST Calibration Window timeline
- The CST Calibration Window sets how long a CST gesture’s cost takes to descend from its starting value to free. Every ETH gesture shortens the window slightly; every CST gesture lengthens it. The line steps at every gesture to the window in effect after it; the table lists each gesture and its type.
- CST Gesture Cost over time
- Each dot is the CST actually paid for a gesture, on a log scale; open rings were free. After every CST gesture the cost resets near twice the paid amount and descends to free across the Calibration Window. The lower panel shows the allocation clock remaining right before each gesture: when the clock runs low, rapid gesturing leaves the cost no time to descend, so paid prices escalate.
- Cycle activations
- System event windows that show when protocol cycles or modes became active and ended.
